Let’s Talk Lotion Bars

I’ll be honest, I love lotion way more than soap which is the main reason I made these. Also, I’m big on bedtime routines for my kids and lotioning up after a bath with a relaxing, moisturizing, all natural lotion, is such a good way for my kids to transition from playtime to settle-down time. In the past I’ve just mixed a bunch of oils and a dab of essential oil into a mason jar and slathered it on them after baths (which is fantastic by the way), but I thought I’d get a little more fancy with it and make an actual lotion bar. My 5 year old loves to put it on herself and because it’s not a pump lotion, she never really gets too much, which is also nice because if you have children you know how fast they can go through anything you need to pump or squeeze (i’m looking at you toothpaste I just bought last week that’s now almost empty). So, let’s talk about what we offer!

As of right now, we have two different solid lotion bars both scented with lavender essential oil and they’re both about 2 ounces. One is for dry skin and one is for oily. What? lotion for oily skin? Yep, our African Shea butter lotion bar is great for oily skin, because Shea butter actually helps reduce sebum production in the skin, which is another reason I love using Shea butter in soaps. I mean, you take a shower to feel clean right? But this isn’t just a lotion that’s good for oily skin. It’s really good for any skin type because we also use organic bees wax and carnauba wax which work wonderfully to seal in any moisturizing properties. Overall I would say this is a fantastic lotion for oily to normal skin types.

Our second solid lotion bar is made with mango butter and it’s my favorite. Mango butter is great for dry skin. It’s so rich and creamy feeling. It’s the one I prefer to use with my kids (and myself) after baths. I would say this is perfect for dry to normal skin.

Fair warning, solid lotion bars do have a tendency to feel what some people may call “greasy”. I call it, “long lasting moisture.” Great marketing right? But seriously, this isn’t a lotion you’re going to put on and not notice it’s there 5 minutes later. It lasts. I don’t think that’s a bad thing, I prefer it, but some people may not, so be aware! Which leads me to my final point, then I’m going to shut-up and take my kids to the park. Because this is a new item we’re (me lol) selling, I’d love to get your opinion of it, so I’m offering this super cheap. It ain’t gone be this cheap again yall, so get yew sum!
