Artistic Differences

The local artist who i’m collaborating with was able to meet with me today to go over some ideas and also to pick out the essential oils and clay’s she wanted to use in her soap. She ended up choosing French pink clay, French green clay, and Brazilian purple clay, along with lavender essential oil and vanilla essential oil. Then we sketched out some designs… well she sketched out some designs and I tried to steer her in a direction that was actually feasible. Her imagination is as big as her heart. Which is one of the many (many) reasons I think she’s so amazing. Finally we were able to come up on something that was almost 99% possible.

A bit later in the day I whipped it up in two batches with a total of 19 pretty amazing bars. However, she was a little bummed she didn’t get her hands dirty with the soaping part. The poor girl actually fell asleep in the living room while I was mixing everything together. I didn’t want to wake her as I knew she had been feeling a little under the weather lately. So I just let the girl sleep. Like I said, when she woke up, she wasn’t too happy about not getting to do the actual soaping part. I told her we could always do it again later though.

Overall, I think she was happy with the finished product! We’ll show you all the goods soon and let you meet the artist and meet the next local artist who i’ll be working with soon! He’s a firecracker so no telling what he’ll come up with! ;)
